Fall Prevention: Use This, Not That

Use railings on both sides of interior and exterior stairs, not a single railing or (yikes!) no railing at all
· Use swing-clear hinges to add 2” to the width of a doorway, not a narrow door
· Use a handheld shower head, not a stationary shower head
· Use a no-step or rubber threshold, not a raised threshold
· Use grab bars that are securely installed, not a towel bar which won’t support a fall
· Use automatic night lights for hall ways or bathrooms, not light switches
