We experience a much higher quality of life when we are well balanced: physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Today, let’s focus on the physical realm of balance, and we’ll approach it literally. If you have noticed that your sense of balance has waned as you age, you are experiencing a common phenomenon. One of the best ways to build your balance back up is to practice it regularly. A simple exercise to practice is a single-leg stand. Please use a wall or counter for support if you need it. Simply lift one foot off of the floor and hold it up for as long as you can. Then, repeat on the other side. Another exercise that is easy to integrate into your everyday routine is sideways walking. Try walking sideways to and from locations within in your house to strengthen your hips.
